DESIGN BRIEF

MEMORY

The project involves designing and building a house on the Argentine coast, specifically on land with a dune, a natural accumulation of sand. Instead of seeing it as an obstacle, it was integrated into the design of the house. A detailed study of the topography allowed the residence to be adapted to the natural slope of the dune, reducing the need for excavation and filling.
Casa Arena integrates harmoniously with its surroundings, minimizing environmental impact and preserving local biodiversity. Native vegetation is conserved and incorporated into the landscape design, promoting natural regeneration and protection of coastal ecosystems. This offers an exceptional experience with a sustainable approach that significantly reduces environmental impact.
The exterior green cover simulates the original dune and provides space for recreational activities, entertainment and enjoyment of the natural environment.
By partially burying the house in the dune, several benefits are achieved, including greater energy efficiency by taking advantage of the natural insulation provided by the surrounding land. The distribution of interior and exterior spaces seeks to maximize panoramic views and foster a fluid connection with nature.
Eco-friendly construction materials, such as wood and recycled concrete, have been carefully selected to minimize the environmental footprint and promote the health and well-being of the occupants.

Casa Arena represents a paradigm of sustainable design on the Argentine coast, demonstrating that it is possible to create luxury living spaces that respect and protect the environment. Through a careful integration of sustainable design principles and innovative technologies, this residence offers an inspiring example of how architecture can be a positive force for change towards a more sustainable future.
