Oasis
Word from the ancient Egyptian wahe ‘fertile place’, which gave
place to Greek oasis and Latin, with the same form and meaning.
This term refers to two phenomena:
– Place with vegetation and springs, which is isolated
in the sandy deserts
– Place or time of peace in the midst of riots and commotions
